Hi all, hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Mine was pretty good I had the pleasure of relaxing with my crochet and loom knitting pretty much all day! I worked on my Tunisian Wingspan, I am on triangle 6 only 2 more to go! I also worked on some more hexipuffs, I got 4 more done and I wound 20 balls of yarn in preparation for a Granny Blanket, I really want one for my queen size bed just not sure I will stick with it. It was a really nice day to just relax and do what I wanted, in the evening we made steak, baked potatoes and corn on the cob all cooked on the grill and Rob set off some very loud fireworks! Recently I completed a loomed jar cover, a hot water bottle cover and a pair of slippers.

Hi all, Happy Memorial Day! First I want say THANKYOU to all who serve/have served in the Military. My oldest son Nicholas is in the Army and I am very proud of him.
Are ya’ll having a good long weekend? I am, I took Friday off, so mine has been a bit longer. I spent the day going to yard sales with Crystal and Samantha and boy did I score! I found this lovely vintage cabinet for $10.00! I love it! It has already found a home in my house.
Saturday I spent the day at Tim’s helping the kids have a yard sale, mostly I just sat in the chair and loom knit in between collecting money and got sun burnt ! It was pretty cool all day. I was working on more Hexipuffs, they make a great take along project! These are all the puffs I made over the last week:
I’ve been playing a bit with changing the colors in them, I think I like the pink/ gray one best. What do you think? I changed color each round except on rows 8,9 and 10, I think it turned out real pretty.
Yesterday I spent a lazy day loom knitting and watching movies. I was working on more Mason Jar Covers. I am going to be doing a class on them over in Loom Class http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoomClass/ from June 3-15, you need to be a member to participate. They have been fun to work up. We had steak and potatoes cooked on the grill for supper, yum!
Today has been more loom knitting, movie watching and some pattern writing. It is cool and rainy here today so I don’t mind being inside. Rob and I made breakfast burritos this morning, yummy they are great for grab and go during the week cuz it is back to work tomorrow 😦 ya’ll have a great rest of the day! Angel

Good morning all, I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. Mine has been pretty good, this afternoon I will be going to the movies ( I haven’t been in a couple of years) I am going with the kids and we are seeing Star Trek Into Darkness http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1408101/ it should be fun.
Lately I have been having a lot of pain in my right hand especially if I crochet, so I am taking a little break from it and have been loom knitting lately. The project I chose is the lovely Wingspan Shawl. This shawl has a pattern available for needle knitting ( original ) one for loom knitting and one also in tunisian crochet. It was offered as a class last year in LoomClass http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoomClass/?yguid=219940051 and I didn’t have time to make it then. Later I came across the tunisian version and wanted to try that too. I have the pattern and will try it in the future when my hand problem is gone. Here are links to all 3 versions

Anyway I am using this yarn with 2 strands held together.
I am using this loom
It is a Kiss 2 way adjustable loom http://kisslooms.com/vmchk/slim-adjustable-looms.
I’ve Also been working on more hexipuffs, these are what I completed this week
Hope ya’ll have a great rest of the weekend

Good morning all! We are back in the freezer here in Michigan! Temperatures are in the 30’s. Brrr! Eventually it will stay warm here. I have been having some hand pain recently which I am sure is caused by crocheting too much 😦 So I pulled out my looms and started working on some Hexipuffs. I am using the Hexigonal Geopuff pattern from loomlady the pattern is in the sidebar. Until yesterday I had made all of them on the flower loom called for in the pattern. I decided to try them on a Kiss Loom
The loom I used has 24 pegs and I made it according to the pattern I marked every 4th peg and just knit the extra stitches. I really like the way it turned out! It feels a little softer and squishier and is slightly larger than the ones on the flower loom.
I still want to make a blanket out of these I guess I should work on them more often. My little pile above has 28 in it! Not very many since I started these a year ago. Ya’ll have a great day!

Yarn balls or Yarn cakes
Hi all hope you had a great Monday! Mine was pretty good, I am having a short week I am going to be off on Friday to attend Grandparents day at Molly’s school. should be fun.
I was thinking earlier as I was winding off a ball of yarn from a large skein what do other people prefer. I have this electric yarn winder and it makes the cakes of yarn. I don’t like it much the cakes are wound loosely and especially when I get near the end of a cake the yarn tangles as it comes off the ball and I really really like using a hand wound ball of yarn. I like how easily the yarn comes off the ball. There is also something very relaxing about winding a ball of yarn it is kinda soothing. I wind most of my yarn into smaller balls, these are some of my leftovers
I think they are easier to take with you and very rarely does it get tangled. A couple of weeks ago I tried winding a center pull ball by hand and really liked it, so I might invest in a nostepinne I used these instructionswhen I tried it I used a ruler and it worked fine. What is your preference cakes or balls? Ya’ll have a great week!!!

Hi all, hope everyone is having a great day, the sun has finally been shining this afternoon! YEA!!!
I am feeling better today, this has been a very wicked bug! I should be able to go to work tomorrow (: don’t ya just hate being sick on the weekend and than feel better in time for work. I spent part of this afternoon doing taxes, April 15 is tax day here in the US, I had put them off because I knew we were going to have to pay and we do! All my tax deductions grew up and moved out. Rob keeps saying we should be able to claim Weezer as a dependent, ha ha! At least he will never move out.
Anyway onto Mason Jar Covers. Yesterday after I posted about the crocheted Mason Jar Cozy Angie P. from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Atmyhouse/
which is one of my Yahoo groups, asked me if it could be loom knit, I told her yes and that I would work one up, this is my result ( she also asked about drink cozy’s so thats what I did)
How to’s :
Loom – all in one loom from Authentic Knitting Board
Yarn – Sugar and Cream in the color Lemon-lime
Loom pick
Yarn needle
Peg markers – 6 are needed, I use tiny elastic bands
Set up your loom to knit on 36 pegs in the round. Mark peg 1 and each 6th peg around.
Using the crochet cast on, cast on to all 36 pegs
http://loomknittingblog.blogspot.com/2007/02/crochet-cast-on.html
Row 1 ewrap and knit off
Row 2 ewrap 1peg, slip next peg (take yarn behind peg to next one) repeat around, knit off
Row 3 – 15 ewrap and knit off
If you want it to cover the whole jar just keep knitting until it is tall enough. Than begin the decrease rows.
Decrease rows, I followed Kristen’s method that she uses on her Granny Rounds here it is
http://www.goodknitkisses.com/GoodKnit_Kisses/FREE_Pattern_Blog/Entries/2011/6/10_Granny_Round_-_Loom_Knit.html
Scroll down to the section called decreases and bind off.
Decrease until you have 18 pegs remaining. Bind off using the drawstring bind off, pull up and tie off. Weave in ends, slip on your jar.
I’m trying another one except with a Kiss Loom, I think I can follow the above with no chnges except use the uwrap instead of the ewrap, I’ll let ya know.

I’ve been making granny squares this week! I started following this CAL last week, I’m going to play catch up and do a couple squares each week until I’m caught up. I got the simple granny done and started on the second square a mitered granny. Here’s the simple granny:
Yesterday a link for this Owl Granny Square came through one of my Yahoo groups
At My House it came at a good time for me My daughter is redoing her kitchen and has some owls in it and I had been looking for something to make hot pads for her and this will work here’s my first one:
for some reason the owl looks a bit crooked I’m going to do another one tonite.
Lately I have been doing alot of crochet that seems to have alot of pieces to it and this mess on my table has been driving me nuts! The other day as I was picking up the mess again I decided I needed something to keep the mess contained and I thought of this:
I had made this tray many years ago and it was just sitting on a shelf collecting dust. I made it to use for bead weaving ( I used to make jewelry) the tray works perfectly for crochet! Everything stays put on the tray and can easily be put away. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner.

Hi all, it’s finally Friday! I had 4 new babies at work this week so it made for a long one! (I am an infant lead teacher in a day care center) I do have a couple of finished items to share. A pretty granny square tissue box cover
I used scraps of Red Heart super Saver to make it, not sure I like the red in it!
I also made some Birdie decortions from Attic24
I only got a picture of one but I made 3 and took 2 of them to my MIL on Easter. I have this one hanging from a ceiling fan. I plan to make several more when I have more time.
