Hi all, Happy Memorial Day! First I want say THANKYOU to all who serve/have served in the Military. My oldest son Nicholas is in the Army and I am very proud of him.
Are ya’ll having a good long weekend? I am, I took Friday off, so mine has been a bit longer. I spent the day going to yard sales with Crystal and Samantha and boy did I score! I found this lovely vintage cabinet for $10.00! I love it! It has already found a home in my house.
Saturday I spent the day at Tim’s helping the kids have a yard sale, mostly I just sat in the chair and loom knit in between collecting money and got sun burnt ! It was pretty cool all day. I was working on more Hexipuffs, they make a great take along project! These are all the puffs I made over the last week:
I’ve been playing a bit with changing the colors in them, I think I like the pink/ gray one best. What do you think? I changed color each round except on rows 8,9 and 10, I think it turned out real pretty.
Yesterday I spent a lazy day loom knitting and watching movies. I was working on more Mason Jar Covers. I am going to be doing a class on them over in Loom Class http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoomClass/ from June 3-15, you need to be a member to participate. They have been fun to work up. We had steak and potatoes cooked on the grill for supper, yum!
Today has been more loom knitting, movie watching and some pattern writing. It is cool and rainy here today so I don’t mind being inside. Rob and I made breakfast burritos this morning, yummy they are great for grab and go during the week cuz it is back to work tomorrow 😦 ya’ll have a great rest of the day! Angel

Good morning all, I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. Mine has been pretty good, this afternoon I will be going to the movies ( I haven’t been in a couple of years) I am going with the kids and we are seeing Star Trek Into Darkness http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1408101/ it should be fun.
Lately I have been having a lot of pain in my right hand especially if I crochet, so I am taking a little break from it and have been loom knitting lately. The project I chose is the lovely Wingspan Shawl. This shawl has a pattern available for needle knitting ( original ) one for loom knitting and one also in tunisian crochet. It was offered as a class last year in LoomClass http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoomClass/?yguid=219940051 and I didn’t have time to make it then. Later I came across the tunisian version and wanted to try that too. I have the pattern and will try it in the future when my hand problem is gone. Here are links to all 3 versions

It is a Kiss 2 way adjustable loom http://kisslooms.com/vmchk/slim-adjustable-looms.
I’ve Also been working on more hexipuffs, these are what I completed this week

Hello all, At the beginning of the year I decided I would make a table runner for each season or holiday. This one is my spring one. I sewed the first 2 one for Valentines snx ond fof St Patricks day. This is my spring one. I finished this little table runner last week and have been waiting for the sunshine to take pics. I used Tunisian crochet and I got the idea from this afghan http://appleblossomdreams.blogspot.com/2012/10/rockman-afghan-cal-week-1.html?m=1
I made 4 strips of 15 squares using the tunisian simple stitch each square is made up of 10 stitches by 7 rows for each color block. I did a border of shell stitch.

Good morning all! We are back in the freezer here in Michigan! Temperatures are in the 30’s. Brrr! Eventually it will stay warm here. I have been having some hand pain recently which I am sure is caused by crocheting too much 😦 So I pulled out my looms and started working on some Hexipuffs. I am using the Hexigonal Geopuff pattern from loomlady the pattern is in the sidebar. Until yesterday I had made all of them on the flower loom called for in the pattern. I decided to try them on a Kiss Loom
The loom I used has 24 pegs and I made it according to the pattern I marked every 4th peg and just knit the extra stitches. I really like the way it turned out! It feels a little softer and squishier and is slightly larger than the ones on the flower loom.
I still want to make a blanket out of these I guess I should work on them more often. My little pile above has 28 in it! Not very many since I started these a year ago. Ya’ll have a great day!

Hi all hope everyone had a great week. I have the day off today and it has been so nice this morning. I have been sitting here crocheting a granny square and listening to it rain! I was so thankful I did not need to go out in it. The rain should be ending later today. I wanted to share a small lapghan I finished recently
I used the Summer Garden Granny Square from Attic24.
and I have been working on it since last year. I made 48 squares, I joined strips of 6 squares using this invisible join
Than I crocheted a granny row on each side of the strip than I joined each row of strips using the join as you go method
I added 2 rows of regular granny around the outside.
I am not totally happy with it, It is crooked and the border is waffily but I guess it still looks pretty. Time to head out for grandparents day at Molly’s school, ya’ll have a great day!

Yarn balls or Yarn cakes
Hi all hope you had a great Monday! Mine was pretty good, I am having a short week I am going to be off on Friday to attend Grandparents day at Molly’s school. should be fun.
I was thinking earlier as I was winding off a ball of yarn from a large skein what do other people prefer. I have this electric yarn winder and it makes the cakes of yarn. I don’t like it much the cakes are wound loosely and especially when I get near the end of a cake the yarn tangles as it comes off the ball and I really really like using a hand wound ball of yarn. I like how easily the yarn comes off the ball. There is also something very relaxing about winding a ball of yarn it is kinda soothing. I wind most of my yarn into smaller balls, these are some of my leftovers
I think they are easier to take with you and very rarely does it get tangled. A couple of weeks ago I tried winding a center pull ball by hand and really liked it, so I might invest in a nostepinne I used these instructionswhen I tried it I used a ruler and it worked fine. What is your preference cakes or balls? Ya’ll have a great week!!!

Good morning all, I had a very busy week so not much time for blog or crochet. I did get a little crochet in I have 2 main projects that I am working on a granny square pillow the pattern is from Sarah London’s book Granny Square Love. (I have the Kindle version) Also a tablerunner of my own design it was inspired by this afghan http://appleblossomdreams.blogspot.com/2012/10/rockman-afghan-cal-week-1.html
I am also working on the WoolEater Motif CAL,http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/wool-eater-motif-cal-2013/ I just managed to get 3 motifs completed, I’ll post pictures on Wednesday.
I did complete 1 project, the owl hotpad I made for my daughter and it has been delivered.
I used this pattern http://www.etsy.com/listing/90970702/crochet-pattern-owl-obsession-a-colorful?ref=sr_gallery_6&ga_search_query=owl+obsession&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto1&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=owl+obsession that I purchased on Etsy. I made 1 owl block and 1 circle block and joined them together using this method http://whiskersandwool.blogspot.com/2010/07/two-color-border-tutorial.html
I was pleased with how it turned out. The owls on the wall are what inspired me to make it! Ya’ll have a great weekend.
