a little looming

Posted on: January 26, 2011

I’ve completed a couple of things since I last posted

here. An afghan block that I am using a technique that I am calling skipped peg color work and is achieved with 2 colors of yarn and you simply wrap the loom with one color of yarn skipping say every other peg and than go back and wrap the empty pegs with the other color of yarn. I tried this because a group member over on the Kiss Yahoo Group was trying to achieve a tighter gauge. Here is my swatch:

Here is the afghan block

I used a slim compact Kiss Loom, I plan to make about 12 of these varying the way I wrap the loom, I have the second one started.

I also completed another oven mitt from Gettin it Pegged I also made a matching Scrubby O also from Gettin it Pegged

I’m much happier with this one. I used I Love this Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby and a Kiss Loom.

My name is Yvonne. I have mostly been a homemaker for the last 25 years. With a husband and 5 kids (4 boys and 1 girl) my time has been a lot about food. 3 of the kids has moved out, the 2 youngest (18 and 20) still lives at home. We are swedish but have also lived in Brazil and USA. Almost every morning, year around, I go for a walk in the great outdoors, planning my day.
